QUALIFYING: CZECH REPUBLIC GP

The weather during the qualifying was uncertain and there was also rainfall in the morning. The track was not so good because it is un-rubberised and the drivers did not feel very comfortable with it. It was surprising to see that both the front row riders and all the others behind them struggled to find the right setting.

At the end of the qualifying, Terol got the pole position with a time of 2 08.118 staying away from the lap record set in 2003 (2 07.836) by Cecchinello and a long distance away from Tamacsi in 2007 (2 06.861).

It was relatively a good performance by WTR-Ten10 Racing riders who have got the right setting, rather than pursuing only the performance on the lap. For a long time Sturla Fagerhaug was in the 12th position before ending in 21st position in the fifth row. However, Francesco Mauriello crashed in the final lap and qualified in the sixth row, occupying the 24th position on the grid.

# 43 Francesco Mauriello 24th on 2 11.628: Unfortunately I crashed on the last lap when I was going really well, I was in a very fast group of riders and unfortunately I put the wheels on the grass that was wet. I am still very happy because although the track is not so good I was able to improve my crono of 4/10 from yesterday. I am confident for the race because we were able to find a really good setting.

# 50 Sturla Fagerhaug 21th on 2 11.189: I thought I had found the right set, but after replacing the tyres, the bike was no longer the same and sliding a lot. After changing the setting of my bike again the bike was fine, but was no time to improve more. If the track condition does not change tomorrow, I think I can do well because the bike is now really good.
